IKEA of Sweden is the in-house design team of IKEA, the Swedish furniture company founded in 1943 in Älmhult by Ingvar Kamprad. The team is based in Älmhult and works alongside external collaborators to develop the IKEA catalog of furniture, lighting, textiles and home accessories.Design work follows the IKEA Democratic Design framework — form, function, quality, sustainability and low price — with iconic results including the Billy bookcase by Gillis Lundgren (1979), the Poäng armchair by Noboru Nakamura (1976), the Klippan sofa and the Lack table. Many pieces have remained in production for decades.The 3D Model Unity catalog of IKEA of Sweden includes high-precision NURBS models built for Rhinoceros 3D, with native rendering profiles for V-Ray, KeyShot and Corona, suitable for residential, retail and contract interior visualization projects.
