1 3D ModelsEero Aarnio Originals is a Finnish furniture company established in 2016 to produce the original designs of Eero Aarnio (born 1932, Helsinki), one of the defining figures of post-war Scandinavian design. Aarnio trained with Ilmari Tapiovaara and worked with Asko before founding his own studio in 1962.
The catalog focuses on Aarnio's iconic plastic and fibreglass furniture from the 1960s and 1970s, including the Ball Chair (1963, presented at the 1966 Cologne Furniture Fair), the Pastil Chair (1967, American Institute of Interior Designers Award 1968), the Bubble Chair (1968) and the Tomato Chair (1971). Several pieces are part of permanent museum collections, including the Vitra Design Museum and the Design Museum Helsinki.
