Marcel Breuer
Marcel Breuer (1902–1981) was a Hungarian-American architect and designer, one of the most influential figures of twentieth-century modernism. After studying at the Bauhaus under Walter Gropius and leading its furniture workshop, he emigrated to the United States and developed an architectural practice including the Whitney Museum of American Art and the UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
His Wassily Chair (1925), produced in tubular steel and the first cantilever chair in design history, is in the permanent collection of MoMA New York and is produced under license by Knoll. The 3D Model Unity catalog includes high-precision NURBS 3D models of Marcel Breuer pieces for Knoll, available for Rhinoceros 3D.
