Richard Sapper
Richard Sapper (1932–2015) was a German-born industrial designer based in Stuttgart and Milan, considered one of the most influential industrial designers of the twentieth century. After early collaborations with Mercedes-Benz and Marco Zanuso, he developed a long career across consumer electronics, furniture, lighting and computing — including the IBM ThinkPad and a long collaboration with Artemide.
For Artemide he designed the Tizio table lamp in 1972, awarded the Compasso d'Oro in 1979 and an icon of Italian industrial design. The 3D Model Unity catalog includes high-precision NURBS 3D models of the Tizio LED lamp by Richard Sapper for Artemide, available for Rhinoceros 3D.
