The Yamaha Design Team operates within Yamaha Corporation, the Japanese manufacturer founded in 1887 by Torakusu Yamaha in Hamamatsu, originally as a reed-organ maker. The company is now the world's largest musical instrument manufacturer, also producing audio equipment, professional sound systems and, through Yamaha Motor, motorcycles and marine engines.Design work covers acoustic and electric instruments — pianos, guitars, brass, woodwinds, percussion and synthesizers — alongside studio gear and home audio. The Yamaha Design Lab in Hamamatsu has received multiple Good Design and iF Design awards.The 3D Model Unity catalog of the Yamaha Design Team includes high-precision NURBS models built for Rhinoceros 3D, with native rendering profiles for V-Ray, KeyShot and Corona, suitable for retail, music studio and product design visualization projects.
